Choosing a color for your wedding is definitely a matter of taste. If you hate green, you’re not going to choose it, are you? However, there are lots of people in the wedding industry with a great eye for color who come up with original combinations that perhaps would never have occurred to you. So here are some ideas from wedding world about beautiful color schemes that I will predict will be big in 2011.
I love navy. I love the formality of it, the vintage feel and the fact that it’s not black. So my vote goes to navy, combined with a gorgeously sumptuous yellow. Here’s an example from Vibrant Bride:
Bright colors are also big for 2011. These include hot pink, orange and apple green. They bring some beautiful touches to a wedding and are particularly nice for summer weddings.
The alternative are vintage-style colors – khaki greens, creams and burnt red. These colors are particularly nice if you’re trying to keep the bridesmaids and mother of the bride’s look similar and make for nice flower choices.
Bringing in grey as a mixer was already something that started emerging in 2010 and will probably continue into 2011, as will the emerging trend for nudes, like coral or peach.
If you want to try out some color combinations, why not use Pantone by The Dessy Group? You can bring together lots of different looks and compare color combinations, to make sure you get the look you want! Also, you can take inspiration from celebrities. Chelsea Clinton, for example, went for dark but impactful colours, revolving around plum.
